Interesting Marketing 2.0 article

Hi everybody how was the Week-end?

I’d like to start this last week before Christmas break with an article from the Wall Street Journal (thanks to DoshDosh for this!). They dig into The Secrets of Marketing in a Web 2.0 World. Here’s a summary from this article:

  • Get the consumers involved, if you write a blog as a manager, let the comments come freely, whether they are bad or good. You got to be present to catch the bad ones and try to convert them to good ones by having a top notch service.
  • Give consumers a reason to participate. Cash rewards on products, points for heavy posters, etc. It may help to identify the experts on various topics.
  • Moderate the conversation so the participants don’t feel that their voices are lost in a chaotic flood of comments.
  • Keep an eye on sites like Digg and Del.icio.us when you launch a new product to see if there is a buzz around it.
  • Let custommers chat with each other while they are shopping on your web site.
